According to the European Space Agency asteroid 2006 QV89 will fly past the Earth
Object 2006 QV89, about which all cared not big stone asteroid in diameter until 50 meters. At the beginning of the month, all the media trumpeted about a possible disaster and even assumed where the stone would fall. The probability in the first approximation of the disaster was 1/7000, even the time and day calculated — September 9, 2019.
Time has passed and the data on the asteroid has changed, the latest data given by the European southern Observatory show that the course of the Earth and the course of the asteroid 2006 QV89 do not coincide, and if so no collision will not be the end of the world in a particular region should not be expected. Moreover, and in the next arrival, if the trajectory is not corrected in consequence of the collision with the same asteroid, 2006 QV89 also fly far from the surface of the planet. The asteroid itself 2006 QV89 for science as an object of observation disappeared from sight 10 years ago, but even this fact did not prevent European scientists to calculate the exact trajectory of the object and say that it does not pose a threat to the Earth.
Cosmic guest 2006 QV89 found in near space for the first time in 2006, observations were conducted 10 days, and then the object disappeared into the darkness. It was then decided that a collision with the Earth is quite possible and even calculated the probability of an event - 1 to 7000.
If on the 11th day the asteroid was not lost, then probably there would be no panic at all. Now, though the asteroid is not seen, but its exact location is approximately known, although with very large error. Scientists have enough data on the trajectory and weight of the asteroid, which is about to calculate the trajectory. Previously calculated trajectory has allowed to bring a powerful telescope in the spot where there would have to be 2006 QV89 if he flies to meet the Ground. But the telescope VLT and ESA astronomers have not found there any asteroid, and if so it can be anywhere, and no way to collide with the Earth.
